Case Study – Invisalign® with a Dental Extraction
Severe crowding of the lower teeth and a cross bite.
Invisalign® for Crowding
Before treatment, our patient had severe crowding of the lower teeth and a cross bite. We were able to find a solution for to straighten her smile using surgery-free Invisalign clear braces. As you can see from the photos, the results speak for themselves.

Movement after extraction of a single lower tooth
-
The main concern was the lower incisor tooth that sits forwards in the smile and is in cross bite with the upper teeth. There was a preference for Invisalign braces from the patient because of their discreet appearance.
-
This treatment took just over 8 months to complete from initial consultation to final retainers and teeth whitening.
-
A single lower incisor tooth was extracted to make the space required to correct the crowding. We decided this with the patient as the tooth had severe gum recession and was likely to cause a problem in the future.
-
With Invisalign braces we can fill the space inside the brace where the gap is so that when the aligners are in the gap cannot be seen.
-
The teeth have been whitened, the arch made a little wider for a broader smile and the uneven level of the front teeth has been corrected.
-
The patient opted for a fixed retainer and also removable Vivera retainers made by Invisalign®.
-
The actual and planned tooth position are near identical in this case - aided by the very good wear (22 hours a day+)
-
Pay in advance, pay in instalments at each appointment or via dental finance between 0-36 months (interest free up to 12 months).
